Course Description
The course is designed for people already hold a security licence class 1AC and seeking to obtain licence Class 1B and/or 1F to pursue role as Bodyguard and Cash in Transit Officer (Armed Guard)
Course Overview
If you wish to progress your security career or build on your existing security knowledge, then our Certificate III in Security Operations is geared towards a supervisory role within the security industry. This qualification can also be used as a stepping stone to advance into different security industry employment streams such as:
Armed guard
Cash in transit
Guard dog handler
Employed by companies requiring persons to carry batons and handcuffs
Bodyguard
Here are just a few of the things that you’ll learn:

Our experienced trainers provide you with practical support during this hands on course. While we prefer you to have completed a Certificate II Security Operations, we also encourage mature age applicants with relevant work experience to apply.
There are a number of prerequisites that you must meet:
- be 18 years or older
- be an Australian citizen, a permanent Australian resident or New Zealand citizen
- pass a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment
- hold a current Security Individual Licence
In NSW, the length of the 1B, 1D and 1F licensing courses is usually 134 hours, 140.5 hours and 126 hours face-to-face respectively. Linked 2 has been approved by the NSW Security Licensing and Enforcement Directorate to deliver these courses via an alternate learning strategy consisting of online and face-to-face delivery.
Our alternate learning strategy requires 9-12 hours of on-line engagement prior to entering the classroom for:
- A minimum of 106.5 hours of delivery and assessment (usually over a period of 14 days) for the 1B licence subclass
- A minimum of 116.25 hours of delivery and assessment (usually over a period of 16 days) for the 1D licence subclass.
- A minimum of 103 hours of delivery and assessment (usually over a period of 14 days) for the 1F licence subclass.
RPL will not be recognised by the NSW Police (Security Licensing and Enforcement Directorate).
